Thanks for reading Gerard, that’s an interesting take I hadn’t considered yet. But after thinking about it, I agree and that’s likely why it felt so “off”. I wouldn’t hesitate to invest in myself with something like this — while I don’t have plans to purchase a Peloton because I don’t have much space and I enjoy other workouts more, I likely spend an equivalent amount on other fitness/health related things. There’s a ton of value in that and I’m loyal to and engaged with those brands/companies.
I think you summed it up really well in saying it’s not something other people gift to or on you, regardless of your desire to have it.
