Amardeep, thank you for taking time to respond and share your thoughts. As I haven’t experienced this from a man’s perspective I chose not to address that in this piece and likely could have emphasized the multi-layered aspect of privilege more strongly. As a woman, yes, there is a varying level, but race, gender, age, sexual orientation, ability, etc. all contribute to the nuance here. As someone who is a cis-het, able bodied, young, mostly white-passing woman, I definitely carry a high level of privilege in that regard.

I also appreciate your insight as a reminder that men experience their own version of fear. This was never intended to imply that “all men” are hyper masculine and threatening, as I know this is not the case. Rather, that in my experience these acts are not committed by women towards women and I’ve never received any form of harassment from another woman.
